This year, 2019, is a year of harvest. The scriptures Isaiah 60:1-3; Micah 4: 1-5; Revelations 7: 4-15 all speak of thickening darkness. Right is wrong and wrong is right. However, the light of God is shining in the midst of great confusion. God through his mercy is doing a spiritual awakening. So, if this is a year of harvest the question is how do we participate in the harvest? Do we, as His body, have a role to play? Where do we participate? How do we participate?
The harvest is in our social media networking, our neighborhoods, our schools and in the business market place.
Four Ways to Participate:
Create space for God to act.
Many of us are overly active in doing God’s work. We need to take a step back from over managed schedules to be alone and listen to the Lord speak to us. Busyness is not productive.
Gather as Believers.
Whether for a business meeting (Acts 15) or in small groups (1 Corinthians 14:26). Take time to praise our Lord Jesus Christ. Listen for His voice and allow the Potter to create and work us into the vessels He created us to be.
Prepare yourselves and our churches for the harvest.
Both spiritual and practical preparation is needed. We need to be renewed in the Holy Spirit to have a deep hunger for God’s glory. We need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to be bold and effective witnesses of His grace through the finished work of the cross.
Reach out with a new level of faith.
If we believe this is harvest time, then we know that God is at work in wondrous ways. Therefore, step out in faith, with love and confidence, to share the kingdom news of Jesus Christ. This is something we can do individually and corporately.
As we watch how 2019 unfolds remember God’s chief resource for accomplishing His purpose is you. Are you in?
